Art Set - Quick Guide

Welcome to Art Set! The first screen after launch shows the canvas and main toolbar. The toolbar displays your currently selected tool and a set of icons to perform the following :

Colour

Opens a draw containing all the colours for the current tool. Swipe to scroll through the full range. At the bottom of the drawer you will find special metallic and fluorescent colours.

Tools

The tool drawer allows you to choose different mediums in the current colour, blending implements and an eraser. From top to bottom are; oil paint, coloured pencil, wax crayon, oil pastel, ballpoint pen, marker pen, felt tip pen, an eraser, sponge, rag, liquid, smudge and stick.

The blending tools give you many ways to mix and smudge colour around on the canvas with various effects. Create anything from smooth gentle gradients to roughly textured scratches and splatters. Some change character depending on speed.

Canvas

The main canvas can be zoomed in and out by pinching. Whilst zoomed in, pan around by dragging with two fingers. The canvas will snap into place once reaching the size of the screen. A fixed smaller size is also available, where it can be easier to draw to the edges.

The toolbar can be hidden by swiping three fingers on the canvas, allowing you to see it full screen. It will re-appear with a tap or after the next stroke is made.

Recent Tools

Tapping the current tool will open a drawer with your recent items. This allows you quick access to all the colours and tools you are currently using to create your artwork. Only those tools that you have drawn or painted with will be added. The drawer holds 30 items and is cleared when the Application is fully quit.

Gallery

Enter the gallery area by pressing the picture icon.

Here is where all your artwork is stored and managed. The currently selected drawing is highlighted with an orange box and you can perform the following via the toolbar :

output : send selected to photos

trash : delete selected

copy : duplicate selected

back : return to canvas

help : this user guide

import : open an external image from your photo library.

new : choose a paper to create a new drawing.

The paper drawer contains an assorted range of papers of different colours and textures. Below the first set are a set based on the currently selected colour. Swipe to scroll through the full range.
